5 Steps for Cleaning Up Unwanted Data in Vista

Daily usage of Windows Applications or Surfing Internet, loads Hard Disk with bulk amount of unwanted data. There is no alternative method to block temporary files on computer else it will cause application to malfunction.

There are many methods, softwares and macros purposely used to clean up unwanted data. Instead of using third party or external software, manual clean-up is a bit time consuming, but reliable it is.

The methods for manual clean-up are listed below:

  • Empty Temp Folder

Type %temp% in Run Command Box.

  • Delete System Dumps & Delete Thumbnails cache

Right click on the Partition where Windows is Installed, that is a System Partition, select the properties.

  • Recycle Bin

Right click on Recycle Bin Icon on Desktop.

  • Delete old System Restore and Shadow Copies

Right click on the Partition where Windows is Installed, that is a System Partition, select the properties. Open More Options Tab Click on Clean up Button in System Restore and Shadow Copies frame.

  • Internet Browser Cache

Open control panel from the start menu. Locate and open Internet Options.
