If you thought Spiderman and Superman was cool, well then make way for our very own superhero inspired by Hanuman, the powerful and fearless monkey god from Ramayana known for his loyalty to lord Ram. US-based producer Uru Patel has been planning to make a modern version of Hanuman for quite some time. He has now zeroed in on Aamir Khan to play Hanuman, though not as a monkey God, but as a super-hero who can fly over mountains and skyscrapers and rescue the modern-day Rama from the ravenous Ravans of today’s world.
Hollywood stars Keanu Reeves and Gary Old man have reportedly been finalized to play Ram and Raavan respectively. Sita was to be played by Shilpa Shetty, who opted out of the movie and since then the hunt is on for a new international face to play Sita.The film will be directed by Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King, The Mask and Mandrake The Magician fame)
In recent past we have seen Hrithik Roshans Krissh and in future we will see Shah Rukh Khans in his forthcoming Ra.1 (where he plays a desi Spiderman).
Says Pradeep Guha, He has been approached. But Aamir will decide after he reads the script.Once Aamir signs the film formally, the first schedule of Hanuman is expected to be held in Rajasthan at the end of the year. The rest of the film will be shot at Hollywood studios.
