Being an Indian, I’m sure you must have heard of Jessica Lal Hatyakand. Just in case if you missed it, Jessica was a model and she was shot dead in a pub in 1999 by Manu Sharma. Though using Power and money, Manu managed to escape the lower court, but after 7 years due to public and media pressure, high court reopened this case in fast track and found Manu as guilty of charge.
This movie is based on same story and no doubt it’s one strong topic and no one better than Rani mukherjee and Vidya balan can play strong role. Those who knows the whole Jessica lal Hatyakand, would be knowing the story line of the movie, but still even after that movie is worth a watch.
This movie is based on a strong story, good direction and most important superb acting by everyone. If you will watch movie closely, director worked on every tiny details in the movie and try to make sure, movie looks real, and indeed it worked.
Though I wouldn’t suggest you to watch this movie with your children, as this movie contains some strong violent and abusive words, which no one would be comfortable explaining. Probably, such dialogues were a part of adding masala and reality in the movie, which worked for them, but as an individual, I can go and watch this movie with my friends, but not with my family.
More over this is a movie which is worth a watch and you will realize how easy it is to game the law by using money and power, though nothing much has changed in last 12 years, but still this movie will leave you with some strong thoughts. You will feel happy that Jessica got her justice but at the same time you will regret that one Girl lost her life over a glass of drink.
