Bollywood star son Abhishek Bachchan, who plays father to real life dad Amitabh Bachchan in R Balakrishnan’s upcoming movie Paa feels that it is a lifetime opportunity for him.
In this movie, son Abhishek plays the role of father of his own father. And Big B plays the role of a13 years old boy suffering from progeria, a rare genetic disorder which accelerates ageing.
According to Junior B, it’s a great experience and opportunity, especially for a son to play father to his real life dad.
Talking about the movie he said, Paa is a happy film about a father and his son and the sweet moments that they share. It’s not at all a film about the disease progeria.
“The genetic disorder is just the unique backdrop of the film… just like ‘Mili’ where my mother (Jaya Bachchan) is suffering from a disease but the film was not about the illness,” he added.
“There is a family in Kolkata where three children of a family suffer from progeria syndrome. But Balki did not want us to meet them and discuss their condition because it would have been very insensitive and intrusive,” the Junior Bachchan said.
The story of Amitabh Bachchan’s movie ‘Paa’ is about a boy of 13 years whose name is Auro.He has a rare genetic defect. He is suffering from progeria like disease which causes speed up ageing. Due to this disease, Auro is looking 5 times older than his real age of 13 years. But he doesn’t take it on heart and live like a happy child. Abhishek Bachchan is playing the role of Auro in this movie. He is a politician. Auro’s mother (Vidhya Balan) is a gynecologist.
A deep research has been done about this disease. Kids affected by this problem become bald and their veins are shown prominently on their heads which enlarge to a size beyond normal. Their teeth and eyes are also affected because of this disease.
Big B has to stick many pieces of clay to get the exact look on his face and spent more than 4 hours for make up and cannot eat or drink once the make up is done and also shaved off the hair on his head and hands so that the veins will be clearly seen. It is also that he cannot move even an inch once the make is done.
Stephen Dupuis who did Robin William`s make up in Mrs.Doubtfire has been roped in as a make up artiste to give a phenomenal look to Big B.
