Repair Windows Registry for Missing Folder Options

Has Virus infected your Personal Computer ? Or, it was your administrator disabling, folder options and task manager from the Computer System for security & reliability.

Well, usually it is caused by Virus Infection, which when executed, corrupts/writes in to the Windows Registry, disabling Folder Options, Task Manager and etc…In order to hide it self or get detected by any antivirus, the virus Programmer uses registry editing as its tool to spread vulnerability.

Repairing the windows registry is a Technical Job, but once procedure is familiar, Average User can repair the registry on its own. Below is a simple procedure to Recover Folder Options.

Procedure

• Click Start > Run, Type “regedit” in the Run Command Box.

• Backup the Windows Registry before editing it. Click here to know, Backing up Windows Registry for safe computing.
• On left pane in registry editor, navigate to the following keys…

# HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent VersionPoliciesExplorer

#HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent VersionPoliciesExplorer

• Now, On right pane in registry editor, locate NoFolderOptions and delete it. Note: Delete the NoFolderOptions DWORD from both above mentioned keys, by navigating individually.
• Close the registry editor and restart the computer system, in order to see the effect.
• On restart Folder Options, will get Enabled, can be accessed from Windows Explorer or Control Panel.
